I love hearing from readers — truly. Whether you have a question, a bit of feedback, a project win you want to celebrate, or an idea for working together, my inbox is open and friendly.

There’s no wrong reason to reach out. Maybe a cost guide saved you from overpaying and you want to say so (those messages make my whole week). Maybe a project didn’t go to plan and you want to ask about it. Maybe you run a brand or service that fits what we do here, or you’re a fellow writer who’d like to collaborate. All of it is welcome.

Email me

The best way to reach me is good old-fashioned email:

hello@thehandyhearth.com

I read every message myself. Because it’s just me back here, I typically reply within 2–3 business days. If a few days go by and you haven’t heard back, please don’t hesitate to send a gentle nudge — sometimes emails slip past me, and I’d rather hear from you twice than miss you entirely.

A quick note before you write

I’m always happy to point you toward resources or share what worked for me, but please remember that everything I offer is general DIY and cost-guide education, not professional contracting advice. If your question is about a structural, electrical, plumbing, or permit issue, the kindest thing I can do is encourage you to talk with a licensed professional who can assess your specific home in person.

A few quick answers

Are you a licensed contractor?

No — and I say that honestly. I share general DIY and cost-guide education based on my own experience doing budget projects and getting real contractor quotes. I’m not a licensed contractor, electrician, or plumber, so I can’t advise on your specific job the way a licensed pro would. For anything involving electrical, gas, plumbing, structural, or permitted work, please hire a licensed professional.

Can you tell me if my quote is fair?

I can point you to our cost guides, which lay out typical 2026 ranges and the questions to ask — like our guide on whether a contractor quote is fair. But I can’t evaluate your specific quote, since fair pricing depends on your region, materials, and the condition of your home. The best move is always to get a few quotes and compare them against the ranges in our guides.

Can we work together or sponsor a post?

Possibly! I partner with a small number of brands and services that genuinely fit The Handy Hearth’s honest, anti-overcharge approach and that I’d feel good recommending to readers. Email me at hello@thehandyhearth.com with the details and I’ll let you know if it’s a fit. All sponsored, affiliate, or referral content is clearly disclosed — you can read our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure for how that works.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to hear what you’re working on.
